Ordering a Piece |
 |
While my work is in several galleries
and shops and I exhibit at many crafts festivals, many of my
sales are done over the internet. It is a common
occurrence for people to see my work at a festival and buy a
piece or two and then want to add to their collection or order
pieces to give as gifts. I have several customers who will
e-mail me their Holiday gift lists and then I create their
pieces, gift wrap them and send them directly to the recipients.
I offer a similar service for weddings where I can ship
your gift directly to the newlyweds so that you don't have to
take it to the wedding (and they don't have to worry about
getting it home). The
Bridal Registry page has more
information about the special services I offer for weddings.

I maintain an inventory of completed
pieces that are ready to sell, and I may have the piece you're
looking for available for immediate delivery. Since there
are so many different glazing options, I also maintain an
inventory of unglazed pieces. These pieces can be glazed
to your specifications, placed in the next glaze kiln to fire
and often can be shipped within a week of ordering. In the
event that I don't have the shape you desire in stock, I will
put your order at the top of the production list and ship it as
soon as it is complete. Depending on the time of year and
the piece ordered it can take from 2 to 4 weeks to produce and
ship a piece. |

If you would like me to create an
original piece for you based on something you already have (or
have seen) I can do that too. Commissioned pieces are a
collaborative project that often begins with the customer
sending me sketches or photos. When necessary, I may send
back sketches or photos of the piece as it is being made for
approval. I do, though, have a few guidelines for
commissioned works. I create wheel thrown pieces, and do
not have the ability to create pieces that are not round such as
square plates and boxes. The creation of a custom glaze
color is a mixture of science, art and luck and it can take
weeks and many test firings to create a successful recipe.
For that reason, I work predominately in my palette of 10 basic
colors. There are suppliers from which I can purchase
pre-mixed glazes and depending on the situation, I may be able
to find an off the shelf glaze for your piece. Finally,
the larger a piece gets, the more challenging it is to create.
Things such as large pots and umbrella stands can be created,
but they are often very costly. My largest kiln is 24" in
diameter and 30" tall so I can't make any piece larger than
that. |
Please feel free to contact me via
e-mail (Stacie@YourFiredPottery.com) for
pricing and availability on any piece. When inquiring,
please provide the name of the shape (the title under the
picture) and the glaze treatment you like. If you're
inquiring about a custom creation, it is helpful if you can
include a sketch, picture or link to a website that can give me
a rough idea of what you're looking for. In either case,
please include your zip code so that I can estimate the shipping
cost. |
