Due to upcoming surgery I will not be taking custom orders until I have recovered.
While my work is in several galleries
and shops and I exhibit at many Fine Art shows, many of my
sales are done over the internet. It is a common
occurrence for people to see my work at a show and buy a
piece or two and then want to add to their collection or order
pieces to give as gifts. I have several customers who will
e-mail me their Holiday gift lists and then I create their
pieces, gift wrap them and send them directly to the recipients.
I offer a similar service for weddings where I can ship your
gift directly to the newlyweds so that you don't have to take it
to the wedding (and they don't have to worry about getting it
home).
Since there are so many
different glazing options, I can't have every piece available in
every possible glazing pattern. Instead I maintain a large
inventory of unglazed pieces. These pieces can be glazed
to your specifications, placed in the next glaze kiln to fire
and often can be shipped within a week of ordering. In the
event that I don't have the shape you desire in stock, I will
put your order at the top of the production list and ship it as
soon as it is complete. Depending on the time of year and
the piece ordered it can take from 2 to 4 weeks to produce and
ship a piece.
To order one of my standard pieces, use the links above
to find the piece you're looking for. Once you find it,
enter the quantity, select a glazing style and the glaze colors.
You may want to visit the
Glazes page to see samples of some of my favorite
combinations. Then click the "Add to
Basket" button to save it to your basket. You can view
and edit your order by using the "View Basket" link.
Once you have everything in your basket please indicate whether the order will
be shipping to Pennsylvania (I have to collect sales tax on all
sales in PA.), and then use the "Submit Order" button to go to
the next page where you enter your contact information.
Once you have entered your contact information, click on the
"Submit Order" button and your order will be e-mailed to me.
I will reply (usually within a day) to confirm the order.
You do not have to pay for items until they are ready to ship.
Once your items are ready I will send you pictures of them to
make sure they are what you were expecting and once you approve
the items, I will pack them, calculate the shipping cost and
call you to make payment arrangements (I accept MasterCard, Visa
and Discover as well as checks).
If you would like me to create an
original piece for you based on something you already have (or
have seen) I can do that too. Commissioned pieces are a
collaborative project that often begins with the customer
sending me sketches or photos. When necessary, I may send
back sketches or photos of the piece as it is being made for
approval. I do, though, have a few guidelines for
commissioned works. I create wheel thrown pieces, and do
not have the ability to create pieces that are not round such as
square plates and boxes. I work in my palette of 10 basic
colors and can use them in any combination to create a look that
is uniquely your own. The larger a piece gets, the more challenging it is to create.
Things such as large pots and umbrella stands can be created,
but they are often very costly. My largest kiln is 24" in
diameter and 30" tall so I can't make any piece larger than
that.
To inquire about a custom made piece
please use the Custom Piece selection in the online ordering
system and write a note in the Comments section describing the
piece. I will then e-mail you to get more information
about the piece.
